  • Scope and Content
    Lynette Drake (1948-), discusses her family background and childhood in Russell Lea, New South Wales. She talks about going to secretary school after completing her secondary education, and then her career as a paralegal for several firms. Drake discusses life as a working mother looking after her two sons.

    Drake talks about her growing interest in the law and enrolling into the Solicitors and Barristers Admission Board course in her mid 30s. She discusses specialising in commercial contracts with expertise in intellectual property and information technology, working for various companies and later setting up her own practice. She speaks about the various professional development opportunities she has taken overseas in USA and Europe.

    Drake talks about her introduction to The Women's Club in 1995 by a colleague. She talks about using the facilities while she was working for other companies and then becoming a Board member, 2006-2012. Drake discusses being a member of the Finance, Strata and Technology Committees, providing legal advice for the club on various issues including liquor licensing, and making changes to the Club's constitution. She discusses the role of women in today's society and the changes to The Women's Club during her time as a member.
