Lynette Gault Drake was born in Russell Lea, New South Wales in 1948. She worked as a paralegal for several firms and by 1990 was certified to run her own legal practice, specialising in commercial contracts with expertise in intellectual property and information technology. Drake became a member of The Women's Club in 1995.
