- Scope and ContentIn this second interview, Neeme discusses his preparation for a production, his way of approaching a text when working with play scripts and students, and the life of a freelance theatre maker responding to issues of funding and resources. He also discusses the impact of COVID on his teaching in Singapore, and on the wider arts community in general. Neeme reflects on the decade he spent directing episodes of Australian popular TV shows between 2001 and 2011 (including Home and Away, Blue Heelers, Neighbours) and the differences in directing for television. In the last few minutes of the interview Neeme reads a touching letter from Dorothy Hewett written towards the end of her life reflecting on their friendship and work together - the two had first met after the first production of her play The Chapel Perilous in 1971 in Perth.
