- Scope and ContentIn this first interview, Neeme discusses his early family life including his memories of a migrant camp in Victoria in 1949, his early inspiration to work in theatre after an initial involvement in dance and being a conscientious objector after being drafted during the Vietnam War. Neeme reflects on his decades of experience as a dramaturg and teacher at universities and training institutes throughout Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand, and the issues he encountered as an artistic director as opposed to just directing a play.
