  • Scope and Content
    This series comprises papers, original documents, handwritten and typed notes, correspondence, scrapbooks, articles, clippings, photographs, and ephemera relating to Ian Heads' research and publications on rugby league, sports, and sportspeople.

    A selection of other writers’ papers, which were passed on to Ian Heads, is included in the collection. These include a scrapbook of journalist Phil Tressider's articles accumulated by his mother post World War 2, and material created and collected by journalist Tom Goodman.

    The collection includes materials such as agreements between rugby league players and clubs relating to where and who could play and under what conditions; the accounting balance sheets of the first Kangaroos tour to the UK in 1908-1909; and journalist Tom Goodman's first-hand recollections of Bradman's last innings at The Oval, London in 1948.
