  • Scope and Content
    Anne Boyd answers several questions related to her first interview and continues recounting her life in Hong Kong and the changing political and social situation after the Tiananmen Massacre, which led to her deciding to leave. She talks about her career at Sydney University, being appointed Professor of Music, in 1990; the amalgamation of the University of Music Department with the Sydney Conservatorium, and Robert Connolly's related documentary "Facing the music" (2001); and retiring as Professor Emerita in 2017.

    Boyd talks about her achievements including being awarded Membership in the Order of Australia,1996, and the Sir Bernard Heinze Memorial Award, 2014. She discusses her composition work in many mediums, from small scale pieces for children, to instrumental combinations, many featuring her own instrument the flute, to opera, oratorio and orchestral works; and the spiritual, Japanese and Indonesian influences on her works.
