    Born into a Chinese family in Singapore Nicholas Ng moved to Australia at the age of two. Ng is a composer, performer and Research Fellow at the Australia-China Institute for Arts and Culture (Western Sydney University), a former lecturer (Australian National University, where he was awarded his PhD in composition and ethnomusicology) and Research Fellow (Queensland Conservatorium). Ng has been based in Sydney since 2016, teaching erhu (2-stringed Chinese fiddle) and theory at the Sydney Conservatorium.
