    Geoffrey Collins recounts his upbringing as an only child to English immigrant parents and his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium with Nancy Salas and flute teachers including Victor McMahon, Margaret Crawford and James Pellerite. He discusses his musical influences and collaboration with David Ahern, Teletopa, AZ Music and others.

    Collins talks about his music career including winning the National flute competition, 1975; appointment to Queensland Conservatorium, working with Carl Vine and Simone de Haan; being a foundation player and Board member of the Seymour Group at Sydney University, 1977; receiving the Churchill Fellowship, 1982; joining the Australia Ensemble at University of New South Wales, 1983; his various orchestra involvements including Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Australian Chamber Orchestra; and relationships with various musicians including Ross Edwards, Anne Boyd, Martin Wesley-Smith, Carl Vine, David Bollard, David Miller and others.
