- Scope and ContentAlice Strutt provides an insight into the effects of the bushfires which burnt through Northern NSW in 2019. She speaks about her feelings when her property was threatened and her relief at finding that only her front fences and water pipes were damaged, but her house had been saved. She reflects on her time studying at the University of Technology Sydney in 1960, the only woman in a course to become a Mechanical Draftsperson. She also talks about the challenges she faced as the first woman to join her Rural Fire Service brigade, and outlines the work she does now as Captain of the Communications Brigade.
