Rod McLeod was son of the pioneer colonist Allan McLeod from Bourke who was chief carpenter at Colonia Cosme and who played the fiddle at the evening socials. After the death of his wife, Allan McLeod was left with nine children to raise and he found it impossible, far too expensive, to return to Australia. One of those many children, Rod McLeod, was born at Cosme in 1899 and spent most of his life there as a subsistence farmer. Norman Wood, third son of William and Lillian Wood, born at Cosme in 1899. Norman was a cattle rancher all his life, in the wild Chaco and in country near the northern Paraguay town of Concepción. His second wife Doña Leonarda, like his first wife, was a Paraguayan. - Scope and ContentThis is an interview by Anne Whitehead at William Wood's house in Asuncion 13 May 1982 recording and interview with his son Willy, followed by Rod McCleod talking about the Chaco War
