    Letters to Lord Sydney mainly regarding the settlement in New South Wales, with particular reference to agriculture and the difficulty of storing grain owing to the lack of granaries, and also Woollarawarre Bennelong (the first Aboriginal man to visit Europe and return), convicts, whaling, flax-growing on Norfolk Island, Van Diemen's Land, the First Fleet's departure and route from England. Includes also a cabinet minute in the hand of Sir Evan Nepean regarding Matra's plan for settling New South Wales, ca. November 1784; Nepean's memorandum regarding the sailing scheme of the First Fleet, ca. 1787; extract from the log of the Reliance, February-May 1795, and Hunter's returns of crops and livestock, 1799.
