- Scope and ContentMrs Aiko Howes speaks about her experiences with World War II as a child at school, and memories of military combat in the sky. She recounts ‘bomb-time’ a reference to the dropping of the Hiroshima bomb. She talks about how she met her future husband, their brief courtship and application to marry and settle in Australia. She recounts stories of life in Canley Vale, building a house, and her local employment in a washing machine factory, which spanned 30 years. She talks about having a family, travelling throughout Australia with their caravan and life after retirement.
