- Scope and ContentVolume 4 includes drawings of rhychaea, curlew, whimbrel, ibis, spoonbill, crane, mycteria, heron, egret, bitterns, porphyrio, tribonyx, gallinula, rails, water crake, swans, geese, shieldrake, casarca, ducks, gull, terns [with pencil notes], prion, pelican, cormorants, darter, frigate bird, tropic bird, gannet, tippet grebe, and penguin. Some plates contain more than one drawing.
Each drawing is followed by a page with the scientific name of the bird; with volume and page number.
