- ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
Elizabeth Reti, nee Muller, born in Dobegyhaza, Hungary, 1912. Married in 1934 and had son in 1936. Husband was a bookkeeper and had first call up to labour camp in 1943. Elizabeth learnt photography and worked in a photography shop until the German occupation in 1944. Got sick with TB and could no longer work. Parents helped her and son. Family forced to move into Jewish designated house in April and then into ghetto in November. In January 1945 liberated by Russians. Went with family back to original home now occupied by Christians and whole family of six had to live in one room. Sent to a sanatorium until 1946 to regain health. Still lives in Budapest.
