Twelfth Hour Holocaust Testimonies Project comprises 207 oral histories of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Australia, conducted between 1988 and 1994 by the Australian Institute for Holocaust Studies, run under the auspices of the Australian Association for Jewish Holocaust Survivors, and assisted by the B’nai B’rith Council of NSW and the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies. One interview, with David Brandon, was recorded in 2001 and added to the collection.

These interviews document the memories of the participants’ lives in Europe before the outbreak of war, during the Holocaust, including but not limited to the concentration camps, and their immigration to Australia before, during and immediately after WWII.

Most interviewees were members of the Australian Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, and were originally from Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, The Netherlands, Lithuania, and Austria. Some written narratives are included in the collection. The Australian Institute of Holocaust Studies presented the collection to the State Library of New South Wales in 1998.
