Gizella Gold, nee Adlerstein, born in Marmarossziget, Romania, 1926. During war: in Marmarossziget ghetto, transported to Auschwitz–Birkenau concentration camp in Poland, was in Block 13 under vicious German capo Ilse Koch, work was to cut up clothes looking for jewellery, marched to Bergen Belsen concentration camp in Germany, liberated by British soldiers May 1945. After war: returned home via Budapest and reunited with sister and brother-in-law, brother-in-law's sister sent permit to emigrate from Sydney.
