Mina Widawski, nee Laub, born in Cracow, Poland, 1921. During war: Jews ordered out of Cracow in 1940 and Mina's family moved to outskirts of city, in 1941 forced into ghetto, worked as dressmaker in factory, sick with typhus in ghetto, in 1943 selected to work at Plaszow labour camp, moved on to forced labour camp at Skarzysko-Kamienna, after another selection in 1944 sent by train to Hasag labour camp in Leipzig, Germany, in March 1945 forced to march towards Dresden, sheltering in barn when other women on march shot by Germans before retreating as battle front closed in, liberated by Russian army. After war: Returned to Poland, married. Arrived in Australia in 1962. - Copying ConditionsIn copyright:
