Jacob Widawski born in Wieruszow, Poland, 1921. During war: in 1940 taken to forced labour camp at Kalbsfelde to work on Autobahn, in 1942 taken to Gutenbrunn labour camp, in sick bay with typhus for three weeks, in 1943 taken to Auschwitz and from there to work on underground cable machine in Janino coalmines, in January 1945 on evacuation march carrying SS equipment to Auschwitz, from there to Gleiwitz camp, then on way to unknown destination abandoned by Germans as Russians advanced. After war: walked home and found two old friends, left for Breslau, married and had two children. Migrated to Australia in 1962. - Copying ConditionsIn copyright:
