Helen Roan, nee Gotz, born in Lvov, Poland, 1922. During war: in Lvov Ghetto, travelled to Warsaw on false papers, worked in suburbs as governess, in 1941 taken by Gestapo to work in labour camp at Halle an der Saale, Germany, interrogated in jail for being a spy, factory destroyed in bombing, liberated by Allies. After war: moved to Ulm and worked for UNRA, spent a year in Paris. Migrated to Australia in 1947. - Copying ConditionsIn copyright:
