Charles Bathersby, a boundary rider of Inverell, N.S.W., enlisted aged 28, 18 Jan.1915, embarked from Sydney on HMAT A29 Suevic, June 1915 and served with the 1st and 12th Light Horse Regiment at Gallipoli, Sept. 1915. He was admitted to hospital in Alexandria with enteric fever Nov. 1915. He returned to Australia on H.T. Ulysses for 3 months change, Jan. 1916 and was discharged Aug. 1916 - Scope and ContentSeven letters, a post card and a Christmas card, written to his brother Edward (Ted) and Grace Bathersby, while at sea, from Gallipoli, Oct. 1915, from hospital in Alexandria and while convalescing at Port Said, Dec. 1915
