The Logie statuette was designed by Alec De Lacy, chief designer for Melbourne-based trophy makers K G Luke Ltd. It resembles a human figure holding a televison with 'TV Week' inscribed on its screen. Each Logie has a small metal insignia on the rear of its wooden base, labeled 'Paramount'. Determined by popular vote, the Gold Logie is considered by many to be the most prestigious award in the Australian television industry. Maggie Tabberer was the first celebrity to win two consecutive Gold Logie Awards for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television in 1969 and 1970.
