  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Reg Campbell, (1923 – 2008) was a portrait painter who produced a number of works of prominent figures like Don Bradman, Albert Namatjira, Ben Chifley and Sir Garfield Barwick. He was also known for his floral and landscape paintings. At the age of 75 he won the “Camberwell” gold medal for “Giant African Marigolds”. Born in Gladesville, he moved to Kirkconnell near Bathurst in the 1960s and established his studio-gallery. Many of his paintings hang in Bathurst’s civic buildings, as well as in Oberon and Central western towns. Campbell also painted celebrities of the day, such as Bob Dyer, and broadcaster John Laws.
