Bequest of Helen Selle (d. 14 September 2012, aged 93 years). Helen Selle's maiden name was McIlrath. She was daughter to William McIlrath, (1876-1955) who migrated to Australia from Ulster in 1890, aged about 12. He joined his brothers who developed a large chain of grocery stores that numbered 62 when the company was finally sold to Woolworths on William's death in 1955. William and his brother Martin McIlrath became successful businessmen and philanthropists in Australia. William became a successful breeder of beef cattle, was a benefactor of Knox Grammar School and a foundation member of the council. Selle's first husband was Winston-Smith and her second husband was Hal [Henry Oswald Gerald] Selle.
