- ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
Barbara Hunt (changed from Hutterer), nee Wild, was born in Bratislava (Czechoslovakia) in 1917. She married and lived in Vac, Hungary. In 1940 her husband was sent to work camps in Hungary, Ukraine and Romania, returning home briefly a few times. Barbara moved into the Vac ghetto with her two children, eventually escaping to join her mother in Pest. After the Battle for Budapest ended in February 1943, the Russians occupied Hungary. Barbara's husband returned and together they began a new life in Budapest. They left Hungary at the end of 1949, living in Vienna for a year before they came to Australia in 1951. - Copying ConditionsIn copyright:
