Peter Schrader was born in Berlin, Germany in1936. His family was of both Jewish and non-Jewish origin, with connections to the Jewish community. Peter's father was killed by Nazis in 1939. During the war his family lived in Borkheide, using Aryan papers and with help from gentiles. After the war Peter went to school in Berlin. He later married and lived a non-Jewish life in Germany.
