    Else Steiner, nee Klein, was born in Vienna, Austria in 1912. She went to Romania in 1932 then to Budapest (Hungary) between 1940 and 1944. Else is the only known survivor living in Sydney who travelled on the famous Kastner Train from Budapest to Switzerland via Bergen-Belsen, leaving Budapest in June, 1944. She reached Switzerland in December 1944 with her sister. Else returned to Hungary in 1945 and subsequently immigrated to Australia in 1949.
