Gertrude Davis, nee Kovacs, was born 1925 in Levice, Czechoslovakia. She was sent to Auschwitz with her family in 1944 where her father was executed and her sister died of scarlet fever. She was then sent to Reichenbach (Germany) with her mother for forced labour until 1945. At the end of the war she returned to Hungary with her mother, before they both emigrated to the UK. She married Errol Davis in the UK and emigrated to Australia with him in 1955. - Copying ConditionsIn copyright:
