- ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
Kurt Herzog was born in 1918 in Vienna, Austria. He entered Belgium illegally in 1939 and was interned in a refugee camp until 1940. He was then deported to St. Cyprien, and was later moved to Gurs, both internment camps in France, remaining there until 1942. Between 1942 and 1945 Kurt spent time in both Birkenau and Buchenwald concentrations camps, before being moved to Ravensbrück in 1945.
