    Martha Bridle (nee Miles), parents Edward Miles and Susannah Smith (Staines), was born on the 4th February 1807 in Prospect, N.S.W. and died in November 1886 in Tumut, N.S.W. She married William Bridle at St Peters Church of England, Campbelltown by Reverend Thomas Reddell on 30th June 1823

    William Bridle was born in Somerset England on the 4th May 1797. He was convicted of larceny on the 5th of February 1817 and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia on board the Larkins arriving on the 22nd November 1817. He married Martha Miles at St Peters Church of England, Campbelltown by Reverend Thomas Reddell on 30th June 1823. Following his arrival, William was assigned to James Meehan, Surveyor, at Macquarie Fields. He was granted his Certificate of Freedom on the 19th February 1824. In 1848 he obtained a lease of Talbingo Station on the Tumut River. The property was later sold, in 1866, to Oltmann Lampe and they moved to live at Fitzroy Cottage Tumut.

    Susannah Margaret Eleanor Franklin nee Lampe, daughter of Oltmann and Sarah Lampe, was born at Monaro in 1850. She married John Maurice Franklin in 1878 and lived at Talbingo and later at Brindabella. She is the mother of Stella Miles Franklin.
