- General note
"This art piece serves as a timely reminder for all Australians as we approach the year 2000. Safe sex and using protection (a 'plastic') must remain highest on everyone's agenda. Taylor Square World AIDS Day Art Project is a contemporary community art project; a 'gift' to the Australian community which acknowledges the support and understanding of issues dealing with HIV and AIDS. The project is created by PLASTIC, an acronym for 'People Living with AIDS Standing Tall in Celebration'. PLASTIC is a new community association formed with the aim of granting wishes to financially disadvantaged people living with HIV and AIDS" -- notes from poster
