    The work is unsigned and undated.
    On each side of the watercolour is an ink study of flower parts, with pencil notations, in a similar hand to that of the title, that idenitfies parts. In between these notes is "Yes J[W?]" in a different hand.
    Dated from comparison with another drawing of a giant lily by J.W. Lewin, "Gymea, or Giant Lily, 1806" located in the Dixson Galleries collection at DG 258.
    Removed from an album that belonged to Miss Olive (Maria) Laura King. For the location of other items from this album, please refere to PXn 258
    It is probable that this drawing belongs to the numbered sequence of J.W. Lewin's - "Botanical sketches of Australian plants, 1803-1808?" (located at SAFE/PXC 304), of which No. 177 has not been located.
