Alice Helena Lampe was the sister of Susannah Franklin (nee Lampe) and the aunt of Stella Maria Sarah Miles Franklin (1879-1954). Alice Lampe often moved places including Hunters Hill, Gordon, and Talbingo, Tumut. Some of her diaries were found in her sister's house in Carlton, New South Wales, which Miles Franklin inherited. These diaries are in the Mitchell Library collection, MLMSS 364/Box 112/Items 1-5. Lampe died in 17 July 1964.

These diaries were under the care of friend and relative, Beryl Bridle, which was inherited by Beryl's newphew Lloyd Bridle, who then presented it to a Lampe's great-niece, Margaret Lampe. It was then passed to Lampe's great-niece, Elizabeth Hood (nee Lampe), and then to her cousin, Joanie Lampe.

Six diaries and one partial diary owned by Alice Helena Lampe (also known as Lena Lampe). These diaries provides an account of Lampes travels and her relationships with family, including her niece Stella (Miles Franklin).
