The Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games was founded on 12 November 1993 to plan for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. There were three presidents, Gary Pemberton (November 1993-March 1996); John Iliffe (March-September 1996); Michael Knight (September 1996- October 2001). It was disbanded on 31 October 2001.
