Charlotte (Charlie) Lund was born in 1991 and studied at the National Art School, Darlinghurst, Sydney, majoring in painting, life drawing and sculpture. She was then offered a tattoo apprenticeship and subsequently pursued a career as a tattoo artist at Prana Tattoo studio in Bondi, Sydney, with her life partner, Josh. She is particularly interested in exploring the human form and natural, imperfect beauty in her artistic works.

Work was gifted to Dr. Riley by the artist in 2020

1 acrylic on canvas painting titled 'Fortitude is Power', portrait of Wiradjuri/Gamilaroi academic Dr Lynette Riley adorned with a brushtail possum skin cloak (known as Wilay in the Wiradjuri language), created by Charlotte (Charlie) Lund for the 2020 Archibald Portrait Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The painting features various Wiradjuri symbols of water, land, spirit tree, the stars and travelling track, used as a metaphor for Dr. Riley's ancestry and connections to the land and people.
