  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Mary Elizabeth Bingle (1825-1897) was the daughter of John Bingle (1796-1882) and Mary Cross. Mary Elizabeth Bingle had two siblings: John Rayden Bingle (1829-1889) and Sarah Cross Bingle (1832-1909). The family lived in the Upper Hunter district at a property named 'Puen Buen', before returning to England in 1837. They returned to Australia in 1842. After selling 'Puen Buen', John Bingle established a business in Newcastle.
