The Swiss Studios were registered as a photographic business in Sydney, New South Wales in 1897 and, by February 1898, had established premises at 448 George Street. The proprietor was Daniel Bernard (1853-1918) who ran a framing business at 430 George Street and the Fruhling photographic studio in Adelaide, South Australia. In 1900, Swiss Studios opened in Melbourne, Victoria, and in 1906 he combined the Sydney photographic studio with his framing works. It operated in Sydney until at least 1946.
