These photographs are believed to have originally been enclosed in letters which formed part of an archive of private correspondence between Prince Edward and his mistress, Freda Dudley Ward, for whom his annotations were exclusively intended.
Scope and Content
18 photographic prints from the visit of His Royal Highness, Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) to Australia and New Zealand on the HMS Renown, dated between 15 May and August 1920. Sixteen of the eighteen photographs are annotated, most by Prince Edward, identifying places and people.
