    Gunther Deix (1945-) is a Dutch Australian printmaker and painter born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Australia, 1968.

    James Lawrence Kemsley (1948-2007) was born in Paddington, New South Wales. Kemsley was friends with Michael Latimer who was the husband of Sheena Bancks, daughter of the Ginger Meggs creator, Jimmy Bancks. Kemsley began drawing Ginger Meggs and taking full control of the comic from 1984. A daily version of Ginger Meggs debuted in 1993.

    Kemsley was a member of the Black and White Artists Club and became president, 1988-1990. He became president again when the club was known as the Australian Cartoonists' Association, 2003-2005.

    Kemsley was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in 2005 and passed away at Bowral Hospital, 3 December 2007. Kemsley was inducted into the Australian Cartoonists' Association Hall of Fame, 2022.
