    Mordaunt William Shipley Clarke, 1833-ca.1919 who was the only son of Reverend W. B. Clarke, settled permanently in Australia in 1856. He commenced working for the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company in 1857, and later in 1880, was appointed to a position as their Resident Secretary for Australasia. Mordaunt Clarke was married to Georgina Alice nee Mann. 1840-1938, and they had six children. William Branwhite Clarke, born 1873, was one of their sons.
