Punk Girls is the first monograph in Australia to exclusively document women in the local punk scene. The product of five years of work by portrait and fashion photographer Liz Ham, it includes over 100 portraits that capture contemporary Australian women in the punk scene.

The project was shot between 2010 and 2017 and includes large format film and digital portraits, digital fashion photography and digital documentary style photography of warehouse events, gigs, performances and social gatherings.

Of the 112 subjects photographed 51 were on film and then scanned to high resolution tiffs, 61 were photographed on digital cameras (canon 5Dmk111), 35 are born-digital documentary images and 35 are fashion photos.

project with the understanding that the images would be published and exhibited.
