  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Beverley Ruth Dunn (1933-2021) was an award-winning radio, theatre, television and film actor. Beverley began her career at 16, playing in hundreds of radio plays both in Australia and for the BBC in London. As well as appearing in various television shows and films, her stage career dated from 1952-2008, and included roles for state and local theatre companies. Her first solo show, As We Are – An Anthology of Australian Writing, toured throughout Australia. Her celebration of Dame Mary Gilmore, To Botany Bay on a Bondi Tram, toured Australia, the United States and Britain to acclaim. She reprised the role of Mary Gilmore 25 years later in The Dame on the Ten Dollar Note. Both works are drawn from Mary Gilmore’s own words – her prose, her poetry, her newspaper articles, her diaries and letters.
