​Radcliffe (Raddy) Ferreira (1946-2011) was a well-known figure in the Australian music and entertainment industry from the 1970s – 2000s. Ferreira was born in Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1946 and migrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1969. He commenced employment at Allan's Music and taught piano at Allan's School of Music. In 1971, he moved to Sydney to direct the resident three-piece band, Mind Body & Soul, that played at the Mandarin Club for the next 11 years. He arranged and composed music for the band, as well as for the Bert Newton Show band and artists Marcia Hines, Dennis Walter, John Farnham and Tony Pantano. He also created a 20-40 piece big band, the Raddy Ferreira Orchestra, for which he wrote the parts for each instrument.

​In early 1982, Ferreira went on to become Sydney Hilton’s resident pianist/music director and played piano six nights per week at the San Francisco Grill for 21 years. During this time at the Hilton he toured and played with international artists such as Dionne Warwick, George Benson, Andy Williams, Jack Jones, Neil Sedaka and the Village People during their Hilton Cabaret Seasons.

​When the Hilton closed for refurbishing in 2002 Ferreira went on to freelance for several years (including a stint on Captain Cook Cruises) before relocating to New York to work for Holland America’s cruise ships as band leader/pianist. Ferreira passed away in New York in 2011.
