    Carol Booth (1957- ) changed her career from lawyer to medical doctor and counsellor, working in general practice in rural New South Wales. She is the founding member and first convenor of the Australian Lesbian Medical Association (ALMA) and wrote the first Australian book about lesbian sex and sexuality from a medical perspective, ‘Woman to woman, a guide to lesbian sexuality’ which was first published in 2002. Since retiring as a rural GP, Carol volunteers as a therapeutic harpist in hospitals and recently qualified as a Buddhist chaplain.
