- Scope and ContentIn this interview Spencer Wu describes his childhood in Hong Kong before the advent of war in 1941, being smuggled out of Hong King to Macau and his family’s return to China. He goes on to speak about his tertiary education in England where he studied dentistry and specialised in IV (Intravenous) sedation practice before migrating to Australia to practice dentistry with an Australian dentist. Spencer then shares his first impressions of Australia and discusses the many changes he has witnessed in dental practice, implant technology and Chinatown, Sydney, including the range of dominant Chinese languages spoken. Finally, Spencer speaks about life in one of the first Chinese families to migrate to Chatswood and business ventures including opening the first photography shop and studio in Chinatown, Sydney.
