Allan Warren Linford Row was born in Grenfell, New South Wales on 4 July 1894. He studied medicine at the University of Queensland and was sent as a Rhodes Scholar to Oxford University, England, in 1914. During WWI, he served as a lieutenant and after the war, he continued his medical studies through the 1920s. He returned to Australia and set up practice in Toowoomba, appointed as senior surgeon at the General Hospital from 1947 to 1963. During WWII, he served as a colonel at Tobruk in North Africa. He died on 20 June 1979.

12 Kodak glass plate negatives depicting the construction of the Nepean Dam on Lake Nepean, near Yanderra, New South Wales. The dam was constructed between 1925 and 1935 (halted between March 1930 and June 1933 due to the Great Depression). The images were captured by amateur photographer Dr Allan Warren Linford Row.
