  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

William Lawson arrived at Sydney in November 1800 and was trained as a surveyor. He accompanied Gregory Blaxland and William Charles Wentworth on what proved to be the first successful attempt to find a route across the Blue Mountains. Lawson's knowledge of surveying made him a particularly valuable member of the expedition.
D'Arcy Wentworth arrived at Port Jackson on 28 June 1790. He had a career as a medical practitioner and public servant and was the father of William Charles Wentworth.
