Jason Chatfield is a Western-Australian born cartoonist, comic strip artist & illustrator based in New York city. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, WIRED, MAD, Esquire, Airmail as well as through his internationally syndicated ‘Ginger Meggs’ comic strips, seen daily in print and online in 34 countries.

On 13 November 2021, Ginger Meggs marked its 100th anniversary. Ginger first appeared in the inaugural issue of The Sunbeams colour comic lift out for the Sunday Sun. One of a gang of cricket-playing characters in the ‘Us Fellers’ comic strip created by Sydney cartoonist James ‘Jimmy’ Bancks, Ginger quickly became a national icon. Since then, five artists have made a long-term commitment to drawing Ginger: Jim Bancks (1921-1953), Ron Vivian (1953–73), Lloyd Piper (1973–84), James Kemsley (1984–2007) and, most recently, Jason Chatfield (2007–).

This collection comprises centenary and 90th anniversary comic strips commemorating the debut of the Ginger Meggs character in 1921.
