  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Florence Australia Wilson (1866-1951) was the daughter of Frederick Sydney Wilson (1839-1901), Archdeacon of the Holy Trinity Church in Dubbo from 1881-1901. She lived in Dubbo for 19 years and was renowned for her illumination work and calligraphy, winning awards at the Dubbo Show and Dubbo Art Society exhibitions. Florence moved to Sydney after her father’s death in 1901. She was frequently asked to provide illuminated address as thanks for service to significant figures such as medical doctors, rectors, police inspectors and the Chief Commissioner of Railways.

Percy William Raine, age 22, was from England and had been in Dubbo for 9 months before he died of consumption in January 1896. He was interred at Waverley Cemetery in Sydney.
