- Scope and ContentDiary kept on surveying journey under Sir Edward Belcher, H.M.S. Sulphur, 29 March-25 August 1837, presumably by Francis Guillemard Simpkinson. Diary covers period when the Sulphur went up the West Coast of America from Montigo Bay to Panama to San Blas in Mexico, then to the Hawaiian Islands where Sir Edward Belcher and the frigate Venus attempted to restore order. Writer gives his opinion of the negotiations. The Sulphur then made for Prince William Sound, Alaska.
