Originally part of the de Rocquemaurel library sold to a Parisian dealer in the early 1970s, these papers are from the collection of a dealer from the United States.

Collection of four manuscripts written by French naval officer and explorer, Gaston de Rocquemaurel in which he examines and evaluates penal transportation, convicts and Australia's colonial penal system based on contemporary literature, circa 1836.
